All-Ireland Schools Debating Competition (The Bank of Ireland)
1983: Winners: Kenneth Bartley and Ciarán Rogan win the Sean Dillon Shield

Declan McCavana and Terry Muldoon
They represented St. Mary's and without too much difficulty, because of their excellent teamwork, reached the final in Dublin. After a long and arduous debate of over three hours the judges from U.C.D. and T.C.D. made Declan and Terry All-Ireland Champions.
Part of the prize for winning was a seven-day holiday in New York.
Mentors: Mr. O. McCann and Mr. D. Campfield.
