Letter from New Principal Mrs Siobhan Kelly

4th January 2019

4th January 2019

Dear Parent/Guardian

I am writing to introduce myself as the new Principal of St Mary’s CBGS. I have spent the last three years working as a Vice Principal and seven years prior to this as Assistant Vice Principal in a neighbouring school. I am extremely privileged to have been appointed as Principal. I have been fortunate to have been invited to spend a significant amount of time at St Mary’s in Term 1 getting to know the staff and boys.

I would like to pay tribute to Mrs Fiona Crookes who held the position of Interim Principal since mid-term and did a great job. Also I have been grateful to the Senior Leadership Team, Heads of Department, teachers and support staff for the welcome I have received. I am extremely impressed by the young men of St Mary’s and how proud they are of their school. Indeed their determination to work hard and achieve success has been evident during my visits from September.

The staff of St Mary’s are dedicated and committed to the boys. They have high expectations of our students in terms of attitude, behaviour and achievement. I look forward to getting to know our students and watching them progress towards success and leave us as well qualified young men.

As I begin my role I would value your continued support to St Mary’s, making sure your son attends school punctually every day, in full uniform and engages fully in his learning. As you are aware this term is particularly busy in school, it is therefore important that your son is working hard. Your support with home study is appreciated.

I look forward to working in partnership with you and your son.

Yours sincerely

Siobhan Kelly (Mrs)
